The MoD responded to the draft Semington neighbourhood plan during the Regulation 16 consultations. They noted that the area covered by a Semington Neighbourhood Plan will both contain and be washed over by safeguarding zones that are designated to preserve the operation and capability of RAF Keevil.
They say that any development of or exceeding 15.2m in height above ground level will trigger statutory consultation requirement as will development that might result in the creation of attractant environments for large and flocking bird species hazardous to aviation, including the potential for an environment attractive to hazardous bird species to be formed temporarily.
It’s fortunate perhaps that we have no plans for wind turbines, solar farms or large lakes.
