Following the recent parish consultation (known as Regulation 14), the neighbourhood plan was revised in the light of the extensive feedback that was received. At its Meeting on July 17th 2024, Semington Parish Council approved the submission of the neighbourhood plan to Wiltshire Council under Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations, and the Plan was submitted to Wiltshire Council on July 22nd. Wiltshire Council began consulting (Regulation 16) on the draft plan on August 7th. The consultation ended on September 24th and Wiltshire Council asked John Slater to carry out an independent inspection of the draft plan. John Slater has over 42 years’ experience as a planning practitioner, primarily working in local government, which included 8 years as a Head of Planning at a large unitary authority on the south coast, but latterly as an independent planning consultant and director of John Slater Planning Ltd, his neighbourhood planning consultancy. He is a Chartered Town Planner and a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. He is independent of Wiltshire Council and Semington Parish Council and has no interest in any land that is affected by the Neighbourhood Plan. His work began on September 30th.
